Beefburgers With A Tangy Sauce

Ingredients
- For the burger
- 500 g beef mince
- 100 g (½ large) yellow onion
- 1 x egg
- 25 g flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp mustard powder
- ½ tbsp lard
- For the tangy sauce
- 5 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

- Finely dice the onion.
Method
- Step 1
- Mix all the ingredients for the tangy burger sauce and place the sauce in the fridge.
- Step 2
- In a large bowl, mix the beef mince, onion, egg, flour, salt, pepper and mustard powder.
- Squish the burger mixture through your fingers until the texture becomes smooth and soft.
- Make four large burgers about 2cm (¾ inch) thick from the mixture.
- Step 3
- Melt the lard in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. (Number 7.)
- Using a fish slice, slide all the burgers into the pan and fry for 3½ minutes.
- Carefully turn the burger over and fry for another 3½ minutes.
- Step 4
- Serve the beefburgers with the tangy burger sauce on top.
