Cocoa Powder Sponges

Ingredients
- 65 g self-raising flour
- 115 g butter
- 60g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 eggs
- ¼ tsp salt

Preparation
- Grease some baking paper and use it to line a 23 cm wide baking tin.
Method
- Step 1
- Preheat an oven (not fan-assisted) to 180°C.
- Step 2
- Melt the butter in the microwave.
- Step 3
- Place all the ingredients, including the melted butter, into a food processor and pulse until smooth.
- Step 4
- Pour the mixture into the baking tray on the baking paper.
- Step 5
- Bake for 30 mins in the middle of the oven.
- Step 6
- When the time is up, remove the sponge from the oven and leave to cool.
- When cool, remove from the tray by picking up the sides of the baking paper, set down and then peel back.
- Cut the sponge into squares.
