Fried Cabbage And Bacon

Ingredients
- 300 g cabbage
- 100 g fennel
- 3 x slices bacon
- 1 x clove garlic
- 1 tbsp lard
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika

Preparation
- Crush the garlic.
- Finely chop the fennel.
- Roughly slice the cabbage.
Method
- Step 1
- Melt the lard in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. (Number 7.)
- Step 2
- Fry the bacon till crispy, remove and set aside.
- Step 3
- Add the fennel to the pan and fry till soft, about 15 mins.
- Step 4
- Add the cabbage, garlic, salt, black pepper, garlic powder and sweet paprika to the pan.
- Step 5
- Turn the heat down to medium-low. (Number 3.)
- Chop the bacon up small and return it to the frying pan.
- Simmer on low heat to medium heat for 30 mins. Stir often and add more lard if the cabbage starts to stick.
- Step 6
- Serve.
