
A milder-than-mild chicken korma made with yoghurt instead of cream add some heat for those that like it.

Low Cal Mild Chicken Korma

Ingredients
- 250 g chicken breast
- 100 g onion
- 100 g green beans
- 100 g cauliflower
- 100 g carrots
- 60 ml passata
- 180 ml water
- 1 tbsp lard
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 x cloves garlic
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 3 tbsp natural yoghurt
Instructions
Preparation
- Dice the chicken breast.
- Dice the onion.
- Chop the cauliflower.
- Slice the green beans into 1 cm long pieces.
- Slice the carrots.
- Crush the garlic.
Method
- Step 1
- Set a saucepan to boil.
- Parboil the carrots, cauliflower and green beans for 15 mins.
- Step 2
- Melt the lard in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. (Number 7.)
- Step 3
- Season the diced chicken with the salt and pepper.
- Fry the chicken until done, about 10 mins.
- Remove the meat from the pan, cover and set aside.
- Step 4
- Add the onions and fry till soft, about 5 mins.
- Step 5
- Add the garlic, ginger, garam masala, coriander and turmeric.
- Fry for 1 min.
- Step 6
- Add the passata and water.
- When the sauce starts to simmer, re-add the chicken.
- Step 7
- Turn the heat to medium-low and cover.
- Leave to simmer for 10 mins.
- Step 8
- Remove the cover, add the yoghurt and leave to simmer for another 5 mins.
- Step 9
- Serve.
