Tuna burgers with a hint of tomato cooked in the oven. Tasty when hot or cold.

Tuna Burgers

Ingredients

  • 230 g tinned tuna
  • 120 g onion
  • 1 x clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 x egg
  • pinch salt
  • pinch black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Finely chop the onion.
  • Drain as much liquid as you can from the tinned tuna.
  • Crush the garlic clove.

Method

  • Step 1
    • Preheat a fan-assisted oven to 180°C.
  • Step 2
    • Mix the tuna, onion, garlic, tomato puree, egg, salt and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Step 3
    • Cover the base of a baking tray with a baking sheet.
    • Take small amounts of the mixture.
    • Squeeze out any excess moisture.
    • Shape them into small patties about 5-7 cm in diameter.
    • Place each burger carefully on the paper.
  • Step 4
    • Bake in the oven for 20 mins.
  • Step 5
    • Serve hot or cold.
