Yoghurt Whey Doughnuts

Everybody loved them. There will be doubts as to the end result of a doughnut. Have faith and trust the process.

Yoghurt Whey Doughnuts

Ingredients

  • For the doughnuts
    • 150 ml yoghurt whey
    • 150 g self raising flour
    • oil
  • For the glaze
    • 2 tbsp icing sugar
    • 2 tsp milk
    • ½ tsp vanilla essence

Preparation

  • Make some yoghurt.

Method

  • Step 1
    • Place the oil in a small pan.
    • Heat on the hob on a medium heat. (Number 6.)
  • Step 2
    • Add the yoghurt whey and self-raising flour together in a bowl and use two dessert spoons to mix them together.
    • It will look like a gooey mess.
  • Step 3
    • When the oil is hot, use one spoon to scoop up some of the mixture and use the other to push the mixture off the spoon into the oil.
    • Doughnut shaping is not a consideration here.
  • Step 4
    • After 1-2 mins the doughnut should be done on one side. Turn it over carefully with a fork.
    • Cook the other side for 1-2 mins.
    • Be careful not to overcook them.
    • Continue until all the doughnuts are done.
  • Step 5
    • Set the doughnuts aside to cool, and meanwhile, make the glaze.
    • Note that the glaze is a necessary addition for taste.
  • Step 6
    • Mix the icing sugar, vanilla essence and milk together to form a runny paste.
    • Dip one side of each of the doughtnuts into the paste.
  • Step 7
    • Serve immediately because these do not keep well.
